Inventory Upload Instructions

Thank you for your interest in listing your surplus parts and components with Global Parts Solution, LLC. We take the listing of parts you submit and make them available for download to a worldwide customer base via our website. Once you submit your list of inventory, we work behind the scenes marketing this inventory on your behalf.

Follow these easy steps and you will be well on your way to taking advantage of the fastest, easiest marketing of your inventory that modern technology has to offer.

    1. Submit your inventory list electronically (see instructions below) to Global Parts Solution, LLC (Inventory@GotoGPS.com). Please include the name, phone number and email address of the sales contact in the email.

    2. Upon uploading your inventory you will receive a response back that will confirm receipt of the inventory and also an account number for your company. For future uploads please name the inventory file with your account number and the date of upload (i.e., account # 2663 + December 20th = 2663-1220).

    3. Review the membership options and decide if one is right for you. Inventory of members will be located under the name of the member. Inventory uploaded by non-members will be available through Global Parts Solution, LLC.

We are sure you will notice the dramatic increase in the movement of your inventory by participating in the Global Parts Solution, LLC program. We are also sure you will enjoy direct contact with your customers when you become a member.

How To Upload

Global Parts Solution, LLC requests that your surplus inventory be submitted in electronic form in one of the 3 ways detailed below. Any file sent should be named appropriately with your account number and the date. The file will contain the following information (without spaces in PartNumber):

    Branch, PartNumber, Description,
    Manufacturer, Condition, Quantity, Cost, List

Branch If you have your inventory listed in separate branches, you can list separate contact details for each
    --------
PartNumber Unique part number of the item
    --------
Description Brief description of the item
    --------
Manufacturer The industry standard naming of the manufacturer of the item IT IS IMPORTANT TO SPELL OUT THE MANUFACTURER NAME COMPLETELY. THIS IS HOW YOUR INVENTORY APPEARS FOR DOWNLOAD BY OTHERS
    --------
    Condition 'N' (New),
    'R' (Refurbished/Rebuilt),
    'U' (Used), or
    'A' (Aftermarket)
    --------
Quantity How many of this exact item are available
    --------
Cost OEM standard cost (confidential) - only published for distributor pricing. Must be a distributor to receive these details
    --------
    List OEM standard list price

In the case of the Excel file and Access database, the column headings (in Excel) and field names (in Access) must be created exactly as above (*Note: No Spaces!). It is also crucial that the information be presented in the proper order with Branch followed by Part Number, Description, etc., ending with price. If the order is mixed up, the data import will fail! If you have any questions or special considerations, please call Global Parts Solution, LLC. This is an automated process, so the slightest deviation from what is documented could lead to problems and delay the listing of your inventory. Samples and templates of the 3 forms of submittal are available.

Inventory files should be directed to Inventory@GotoGPS.com.

    Electronic Form #1 - Excel
Excel 97 or Excel 2000 file containing inventory items. All inventory items will be listed on the first worksheet and that worksheet will be named 'Sheet1', which is the default name. Row 1 of the worksheet will contain the column headings described above. Beginning with row 2, you will enter your inventory items and continue doing so only on the first sheet. Do not put inventory information on sheets other than 'Sheet1'. Also, do not include any hidden columns. Centering, bolding or other formatting information is not necessary. Here is what it a sample file should resemble.

    Electronic Form #2 - Access 2000
Only Access 2000 is acceptable, as Access 97 databases need to be converted to Access 2000 and this will cause problems with the automated importation process. The database will contain one table named 'tblVendorImport' with the following fields defined and populated. *Note: Be sure to name both the table and fields EXACTLY as described - no spaces!

Electronic Form #3 - Text File
This will be a pipe "|" delimited file with the same fields as above, only separated by the pipe character. This file must have a filename extension of '.txt' There is no pipe after the last field, only a carriage return. If there is no data for an optional field such as Branch, then you will have two pipes right next to each other. That way the automated import program will know that there is no data for that field. If you leave it out completely, it will pull the next fields information into the incorrect field. Listed below is a sample of a pipe delimited file.
